Young Adult Program

Young Adult Program

We have designed a specific program for Young Adult Men between the ages of 18-30. This program is based on the fundamental principles of the 12-steps and an all-encompassing approach to recovery. We empower our residents with the necessary skills to succeed in their transition to independence. We work without Residents on various life skills, which create accountability within the community. This includes cooking classes, making their beds, cleaning their rooms, and even showing them how to do their laundry. We teach them time management, accountability, responsibility, humility and communication. By incorporating life skills in our program, Residents are empowered to evolve towards independence.

Sober Living Facilities for Men

During this initial Phase, our Residents will be taught the 12-Step program and begin their step work. We will assist in finding them a sponsor, bring them to meetings, and help them to construct and develop a recovery network. Upon admission, our Residents will have a blackout period the first 2 weeks, which will allow them to solely focus on their recovery. We will also request enrollment in an Intensive Out Patient program. Residents will also be assigned a Case Manager, whom will coordinate the logistics of their recovery services, and also be a family liaison. They will be assigned a NYS Certified Recovery Coach, whom will meet with Residents once per week to help them set and achieve recovery oriented goals. They will also consult with a nutritionist, and be provided fresh farm-to-table meals prepared by our private chef. Gym memberships will also be included for each Resident, to truly address healing the mind, body, and spirit. Phase I will last approximately 6 weeks, depending on the Residents progress, and will primarily focus on recovery.

Phase I: Building A Foundation of Recovery

During this initial Phase, our Residents will be taught the 12-Step program and begin their step work. We will assist in finding them a sponsor, bring them to meetings, and help them to construct and develop a recovery network. Upon admission, our Residents will have a blackout period the first 2 weeks, which will allow them to solely focus on their recovery. Phase I will last approximately 6 weeks, depending on the Residents progress, and will primarily focus on recovery.

Phase II: Application of Life Skills

It is imperative that Young Adults learn necessary life skills to sustain independence. During the second Phase of our program, Residents will be taught advanced Life Skills and begin their personal development. They will consult with a Vocational Specialist, whom will help analyze their desires and passions and determine a course of action for achievement. We will show them how to write a resume, how to fill out college applications, provide cooking classes, and teach them budgeting and finance. This population desperately needs to be shown how to live! We won’t just talk about it, we will show them.

Phase III: Independent Living

After successfully completing Phase I & II, Residents will advance to Independent Living. They will be provided their own residence on the main campus, which will allow them to remain in the community, but also feel self-sufficient. This newly renovated home is also an incentive for Residents to remain motivated. At this Phase, Residents will have already acquired a job, or will be enrolled in school. They will have the freedom to sign out, but are still under the supervision of staff and are required to participate in the community. We believe that it is essential Phase III Residents remain involved and help Phase I & II Residents. The involvement of senior Residents giving back what was so freely given to them generates miracles.
